How should a SCI paper be submitted? It takes a long time from writing to selecting journals, and then to publishing. Now let's take a look at the process of SCI paper submission.
The submission process is as follows:
1. Submitted to Journal
The submission process is generally as follows: on the homepage of the official website of the magazine, open submit paper, register an account as the corresponding author, and then log in as the author login. Follow the prompts to complete in sequence: select article type, enter title, add/edit/remove authors, submit abstract, enter keywords, select classifications, enter comments, request editor, attach files, and finally Download PDF. After ensuring that it is correct, You can go to the submission homepage to approve submission or submit directly.
2、Manuscript received by Editorial Office
The delivery of the article proves the successful submission.
If you are not required to select an editor at the time of submission, go to the editor in chief first, and the editor in chief will assign it to the deputy editor in chief or other editors.
There are two other states:
(1) Awaiting Editor Assignment
Assign responsible editors. Note: Editor assigned assigns your article to an editor.
(2)Editor Declined Invitation
If the Editor takes over, he will invite reviewers.
There are two possible statuses (decision letter being prepared or reviewers invited)
5. The process of under review is long
Tip: don't rush the manuscript easily in this process. It is generally in the process of inviting reviewers and submitting for approval. If the invited reviewer does not want to review, it will decline, and the editor will re invite other reviewers.
6、Required Reviews Completed
It indicates that the review comments have been returned to the editor.
Tip: in most cases, this state will not last long, from a few hours to a few days. Basically, the processing time of this process can be predicted according to the number of manuscript numbers allocated after the initial submission. Take it easy and wait.
Evaluate the reviewers' comments, and then you will receive the decision from the editor.
8. Minor repair or major repair
At this point, the problem is generally not too big, and the opinions of reviewers and editors are fully respected.
(1) Accepted after minor repair
This decision is also called conditional acceptance, which means that the paper can be accepted by the journal after some minor modifications. The papers accepted after minor revision may not need to be reviewed again. Generally, the journal editor will make a ruling after checking it by himself. However, the author should remember that "publishing after minor revision" is not guaranteed to be accepted, and it is still necessary to make the editor satisfied with your revision.
(2) Accepted after overhaul
When the editor thinks that the paper needs to be significantly revised, he will make this decision. When returning the revised manuscript, the author needs to attach a point by point reply to the reviewer's comments. The revised manuscript may also be sent to the external reviewer, usually to the first round of reviewers. However, of course, the editor also has the right to choose different reviewers. The second round of reviewers, some journals are called "re reviewers", The result is determined according to the author's modifications and replies to the review and editorial comments. If the author does not reply to all the comments completely, there may be further modifications or even rejection.
Generally speaking, try to supplement the experiment if you can, but if you can't, seriously consider the reasons and arguments, but a modest and cautious tone is essential. After all, there is also a certain rejection rate for major repairs, while the vast majority of minor repairs can be finally completed.
