University Majors mainly include undergraduate majors and higher vocational education majors. It mainly includes philosophy, economics, finance, law, diplomacy, sociology, public security, education, physical education, Chinese language and literature, journalism, history, information and computing science, physics, applied chemistry, geographical science, etc.

As of March 2021, the undergraduate majors of ordinary colleges and universities in China have set up 12 discipline categories (excluding military science, the same below), 92 specialty categories and 740 specialties. The 12 disciplines include 4 natural sciences: Science, engineering, medicine and agriculture; 8 humanities and Social Sciences: literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, education and art.

Higher vocational education majors include higher vocational college majors and higher vocational undergraduate majors. There are 19 major categories, 97 major categories and 991 majors, including 744 higher vocational college majors and 247 higher vocational undergraduate majors. The 19 major categories are agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, resources, environment and safety, energy, power and materials, civil construction, water conservancy, equipment manufacturing, biology and chemical industry, light industry and textile, food, medicine and grain, transportation, electronic information, medicine and health, finance and trade, tourism, culture and art, news and communication Education and sports, public security and justice, public management and service.
