Authors should be familiar with HowNet. How can we use HowNet to query whether the journal we want to publish belongs to core journals or ordinary journals? In this issue, we use the HowNet to query the types of periodicals.

　　The interface of the new version of CNKI is very different from that of the old version, and some functions are more specific and detailed. When searching for literature, due to the large number of topics related, core journals have high requirements for the quality of papers, so they have important reference value. Using the advanced retrieval function, you can select core journals from the documents of HowNet.

　　First, search the official website of "CNKI" on the web page and enter the home page of "CNKI".

　　Step 2: on the homepage of CNKI, click "publication search" on the right side of the interface to enter the publishing source navigation interface.

　　Step 3: in the publishing source navigation interface, there is an input box on the right side of the source name. Please enter the journal to be queried. Taking Contemporary Educational Science magazine as an example, we enter "contemporary educational science" into the search box and click the publishing source search on the right side.

　　Step 4: click the retrieved contemporary educational science journal to enter the journal navigation interface,

　　Step 5: click the bottom left corner of the above figure for more introduction

　　Step 6: check the information. Below the evaluation information on the right, the source journal of Peking University's "overview of key Chinese Core Journals" will be displayed, which shows the number of times that the journal has entered the core journal directory since its inception. For example, the 2014 edition of the above figure indicates that the contemporary educational science journal is a journal in the 2014 edition of Peking University's core journal directory.

　　Note: if there is no such word as the source journal of Peking University "overview of key Chinese Core Journals" on the right side of the evaluation information of the checked journal, it means that the journal has never entered the core catalogue of Peking University. In addition, if the journal shows only the 2011 edition, and there is no 2014 edition, it means that the journal is the core journal of Peking University in the 2011 edition, but it is not the core journal of Peking University in the 2014 edition.
