AFME | About the Conference |
With the success of the first three editions, AFME 2025 is celebrating its fourth edition. Organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), co-organized by Ocean University of China (OUC) and Soochow University, and hosted by School of Aeronautics and Astronautics and School of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering of HUST, 2025 4th International Conference on Acoustics, Fluid Mechanics and Engineering will be held from October 24 to 26, 2025, in Wuhan, China. The conference will focus on the important role of acoustics and fluid mechanics in modern technology and industry and their interdisciplinary application frontiers.
Acoustics and fluid dynamics play an integral role in today's society. From environmental noise management to aerospace, from energy production to biomedical engineering, their applications are broad and far-reaching. In addition, with the growing importance of areas such as sustainable development and precision medicine, research in both sciences provides us with new ways to optimize designs, reduce costs, and enhance system performance.
This conference hopes to promote international academic exchanges and cooperation, and provide a platform for delegates to present their research results and discuss the latest progress and future trends of the discipline. We sincerely invite researchers, engineers and academics from all over the world to join us to promote the development of acoustics and fluid dynamics in order to meet the new scientific and technological challenges and serve the needs of the society.

Prof. Zhi Zong, Fuyao University of Science and Technology, China
Vice President of Liaoning Shipbuilding Society
Biography: Zong Zhi is a professor at Fuyao University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Ship Engineering from Hiroshima University in Japan in 1995. Afterward, he joined the Singapore Institute of High Performance Computing as a senior and chief research engineer, focusing on underwater explosion and computational mechanics research. In 2004, he joined Dalian University of Technology in China as a professor. Professor Zong has served as the dean of the School of Ship Engineering and the deputy director of the National Laboratory for Structural Analysis of Industrial Equipment. He is currently employed at Fuyao University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of the editorial boards of more than ten international and local journals. He has published over 340 papers, of which 190 are included in the SCI database. He has authored seven monographs, three of which were published by Elsevier, CRC, and Lambert Academic. Professor Zong is actively engaged in research areas such as fluid mechanics, computational mechanics, and ocean engineering. He discovered the splash resistance of trimaran vessels and a new form of solitary waves. He developed a variable topology boundary element method to simulate the jet formation after bubble collapse, which is widely used in underwater explosion research. He has also improved the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and Discrete Vortex Method to achieve better simulation results for water wave evolution, ship motion in waves, impacts, water entry, and vortex-induced vibrations. He has received multiple awards, including first and second prizes for technological advancement from the Ministry of Education and several awards from the Ocean Engineering Consulting Association.
Prof. Xiwei Huang, Tsinghua University, China
The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars
Biography: He is a long-appointed professor at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tsinghua University, and a doctoral supervisor. He is mainly engaged in numerical methods for complex boundary flows, complex boundary turbulence mechanism and control, bionic flows and other aspects of research work. He has published more than 100 SCI papers in Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physics of Fluids, Physical Review Fluids and other mainstream journals in fluid mechanics, with more than 1500 SCI citations. He is the associate editor of AIP Advances and Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, and the associate editor of International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics He also serves as an associate editor of AIP Advances and Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, an editorial board member of International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and Hydrodynamics Research and Progress, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the International Conference on Turbulence and Shear Flow (TSFP). He is currently a member of the Turbulence and Stability Specialized Group of the Chinese Mechanics Society and a member of the Beijing Mechanics Society/Vice Director of the Fluid Mechanics Specialized Committee.
Prof. Guoyong Jin, Harbin Engineering University, China
The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars
Biography: Guoyong Jin, Doctor of Engineering, Professor of School of Power and Energy Engineering, Harbin Engineering University, Doctoral Supervisor of Turbine Engineering, Doctoral Supervisor of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, selected by National High-level Talent Program. He graduated from Harbin Engineering University in 2007, majoring in turbine engineering, and received his PhD degree. His main research areas are structural dynamics and acoustics, power machinery vibration and noise, and ship power plant vibration and noise control. He has presided over more than 30 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Major/Key Programs, and Basic Research Programs. He has published more than 100 SCI papers in international authoritative and well-known journals in this field, 3 books (1 in English), and more than 30 authorized invention patents. He has been awarded many honors, such as China Highly Cited Scholar, National Nomination Award for 100 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations, Fok Ying-tung Award for Young Teachers in Higher Education Institutions, and the first National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor in the discipline of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering. He has received many scientific research awards, such as the first prize and the second prize of science and technology at provincial and ministerial levels. He serves as vice president of Heilongjiang Acoustics Society, member of China Transportation Association Young Scientists Committee, member of International Society of Acoustics and Vibration, vice president of several international journals such as Journal of Marine Science and Application, International Journal of Acoustics and Vibration, and so on. Journal of Marine Science and Application”, ‘International Journal of Acoustics and Vibration’ and other international journals, such as deputy editor-in-chief/editorial board member and other academic positions.

All submissions must be reviewed by experts of the organizing committee, and after rigorous review, all accepted papers will be published in Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS) (ISSN:1742-6596), which will be submitted to EI Compendex and Scopus by the publisher for retrieval after publication. At present, the publisher's search is stable.

All submitted articles should report original research results, experimental or theoretical, not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. Articles submitted to the conference should meet these criteria. We firmly believe that ethical conduct is the most essential virtue of any academics.
