AIScholar (“we”, “us” or “our”, collectively “this website”) is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust with respect to your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information. This policy applies to our apps, WeChat official accounts, WeChat mini-programs and other services (“Website”). All authors are requested to confirm they have read and understand this policy when they log in to this website.

1. Legal basis

For users from the People’s Republic of China, we collect and use your personal information in accordance with the Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic of China, Information security technology—Personal information security specification (GB/T 35273-2017) and other applicable laws in the places where we operate. 3.1 Information Not Related to Personal Identity

Non-personalized information, such as the type of your web browser, operating system, and the ISP Address that grants you access to our services, etc., may be recorded to help us optimize the page displayed on your computer screen. By collecting the above-mentioned information, we also developed a guest-counting system to improve the management and services of the Sites.

3.2.1 When you use AIS products and services, you must provide your authentic personal information. If you provide false information, AIS has the right to deny your access to our products or services; in case any change occurs to your personal information, immediate notification must be sent to AIS for review. In case any damage has been caused by your incorrect personal information, you alone shall bear all the responsibility.

3.2.2 When you create an account, register or participate in various activities such as online or public forums on the Platform, upon your consent and confirmation, the Sites may ask you to provide some/all of the following information: (1)Personal identifiable information, such as your name, gender, age, date of birth, ID number (or passport number), phone number, mailing address, home address or email address; (2)Background information including occupation, and level of education. Please update or amend your personal data if it is provided inaccurately, untruthfully, illegally or if there are any changes.

3.2.3 To ensure that you have submitted the authentic information, you must cooperate with the Platform and follow our instructions in performing manual or system real-name authentication. The process will be completed once we confirm that the information you have submitted belongs to the same person and satisfy our authentication requirements; even if you have been authenticated by AIS, you still have to bear the responsibility to guarantee your submitted information is authentic, accurate and complete.

3.2.4 Prior to your consent and confirmation, AIS will not use the information you provide for a specific activity on the Sites for other purpose.

3.2.5 Prior to your consent and confirmation, AIS will not leak your personal information (including your name, ID number, passport number, phone number, mailing address, home address, email address) to any third-party commercial organization.

3.2.6 AIS promises to protect its user’s privacy. We ensure that the information provided by any single user during registration and the non-public contents they have stored on the Platform during their use of our network services, will not be disclosed or leaked to any third-party. However, the following situations shall exempt the Platform from assuming any legal responsibility:

(1) As required by relevant government agencies or judicial authorities, AIS provides your personal information in accordance with the law;

(2) For the purpose of protecting the legitimate rights (such as life and property) of you and other individual but there is no way to get your consent;

(3) Information you disclose to the public on your own;

(4) Publicly disclosed information collected through channels such as legitimate news report and government disclosure. As stipulated by Chinese laws and regulations, sharing, transferring and disclosing de-identified personal information from which the person’s identity cannot be reasonably ascertained by the receivers of the information, does not constitute the sharing, transfer, and public disclosure of personal information. No further notice or your consent will be needed to store and process such kind of data.

(5) As required by relevant government agencies or judicial authorities, AIS provides your personal information in accordance with the law;

(6) Personal information leakage caused by you sharing account and password to/with other people, or personal information leakage caused by reasons not on AIS’ part;

(7) Information leakage caused by hacker attacks or computer virus intrusion;

(8) Information leakage due to force majeure.

4. Protection of Personal Information

4.1 The information you provide will be under strict management and protection. The Sites will utilize corresponding technology to prevent your personal information from being lost, stolen or tempered with.

4.2 Your account and password (including third-party accounts such as WeChat or Weibo accounts) constitutes your sole proof of identity. You alone shall held responsible for setting and keeping the password. Giving away, borrowing, renting, transferring or selling your account and password are strictly forbidden; In case your account and password get stolen, illegally used or suffer from damage due to hacking activity or your own negligence, AIS shall not bear any responsibility; in case damages have been caused to others or you get punished by an administrative agency arising therefrom, you alone shall bear all the responsibility; in the event that damages have been caused to AIS, compensation shall be made on your part.

4.3 Please noted that during your use of AIS products or services, never disclose personal information about your bank cards, credit cards, third-party payment accounts or corresponding passwords. In the case of any damages arising therefrom, you alone should bear all the responsibility.

4.4 Your login password for this Sites has been through double layer irreversible encryption, followed by further encryption and obfuscation. Therefore, under normal circumstances, even hackers cannot have direct access to your login password.

5. User’s Rights

5.1 With respect to your personal information, you have the following rights:

5.1.1 Inquiries and requests for reading at any time. Under reasonable and possible circumstances, we will provide you with options when asking for your personal information. You can find more information related to your options for each specific service.
